Several years ago I bought an automotive jump start unit
with a built in inverter, a PEAK power Station 700. My
intent was to also use it as a field power source for
photographic lights. Unfortunately when I plugged in two 300
Ws strobes the thing died after about two flashes. I have
since ordered a 1350 VA pure sine wave battery backup for
that use.

Should I expect any problems using this device with the
strobes? I usually use three or four at a time.

I have another higher capacity standalone inverter but I am
afraid to try it as it is not pure sine wave.

If I ever get time to attempt a repair of the PEAK unit I
will probably seek advice from this list on that also as I
have no experience with inverters.
