That's a complex problem and much will depend on the rest of your life circumstances. Typical disclaimer, IANAL, but it sound like you were misled. Complaints higher up the food chain may give you some relief, perhaps. At some point you could consider legal action, though I doubt it would come to much and take years to get there. One option you may have is to start with a "real" college now. It's possible you could then transfer those credits back to DeVry to complete their degree requirements. The colleges I'm familiar with have some requirements about your last X credits need to be from them to receive a degree. I know people that were able to get that waved under "special circumstances". If you're looking for a big corporate engineering job at 23, the sheepskin is critical, it's the only thing you have. Fifteen plus years older than that there is usually a work history that is much more relevant than the details of the degree. There's also thousands of small companies that need engineers and in those situations "what can you do" is often way more important than "what class did you attend".
