Hi David, Maybe something like this is available on your side of the pond: https://www.amazon.com/Mail-Time-Yellow-Mailbox-Driveways/dp/B0002MSR2E Friendly regards, Bob ________________________________________ From: piclist-bounces@mit.edu on behalf of David = C Brown Sent: Thursday, December 15, 2016 5:55 AM To: Microcontroller discussion list - Public. Subject: [EE] Latching indicator I want a "you have mail" indicator on my postbox. Set when the postie opens the lid to put mail in and cleared when I open the front to remove. Electrically very simple - couple of microswitches, a latch circuit and a LED indicator. Unfortunately that is two power hungry for a battery powered device since the LED could be on for many days when I am away from home. So I need a zero power latching indicator. I have a couple of ideas - two electromagnets pushing an over centre link. A small stepping motor driving a petal type display or , via a cam, a lever. But it would be nice ti find a ready made device. Any suggestions? --=20 http://www.piclist.com/techref/piclist PIC/SX FAQ & list archive View/change your membership options at http://mailman.mit.edu/mailman/listinfo/piclist .
