Thanks for all the replies. The conclusion I have come to is that mini-USB = is still in use because many feel it is (marginally) a better choice. In my= own experience mini-USB jacks wear out to the point of making poor contact= and/or the cable unplugging itself. As others have pointed out, those issu= es are specifically addressed in micro-USB.
