A Hackaday post suggests that a MOSFET's gate threshold voltage can be perm=
anently shifted by applying a one-time momentary gate overvoltage.

"Turn your normal MOSFET into a low-threshold MOSFET in seconds"

Sounds like poking holes in a condom to me - not a good idea :)
