There was a myth running around the ham club that "every adaptor costs you =
1dB".=20

A friend and I set up a little demo involving his 1kW VHF brick, three radi=
o shack adaptors, and a large dummy load.
500W should have made those adaptors pretty hot!
:)

And we did use the lowest quality adaptors we had on hand, not milspec silv=
er Teflon.
