Bike engines always seem to hover just below a "category" - 49cc, 247cc, 748cc, 999cc etc. Possibly has something to do with displacement taxation. Might even be about home/export market as to what the regs are. I remember being curious about it a long time ago when a friend at school (in the UK) bought a James 200 (made in the UK), 197cc. Another friend's father had a vintage Ariel Square Four 1000, 995cc, so the "just under" has been around for a while. I guess if you're the gumment and setting displacement limits you'll be forever chasing rabbits as the manufacturers will always go just under Joe ----- No virus found in this message.
