I know the example above (59 vs 49 "usable" litres) was not yours, but I'd = argue that=20 a more logical appraisal of volume would be just the actual volume of the c= avity=20 rather than what might arguably be the "usable" portion of that volume. It = just keeps=20 it simpler, and the consumer should easily be able to measure it and confir= m it. And=20 some microwave ovens these days have no turntable, so they'll take a square= or=20 rectangular container presumably making the unusable volume much less=20 significant. On a tangent, I own a KTM motorbike which over the years has been released = as a=20 520 (the one I have), then a 525, then a 530, and now this year is called a= 500. The =20 engine has always been 510cc. I can't fathom the logic of it, and it's alwa= ys=20 annoyed me slightly. Hopefully consumer push back has encouraged them to se= ttle=20 on 500. I don't think KTM make microwaves though. --=20 http://www.piclist.com/techref/piclist PIC/SX FAQ & list archive View/change your membership options at http://mailman.mit.edu/mailman/listinfo/piclist .
