Ok, so GIT seems to be the way the wind is blowing. I just spent the last several hours reading, but there's things I still don't understand. Several of the references I found seem to suggest that a single person can install [package x] on their workstation and manage _local_ repositories on the local hard drive - I assume that extends to mapped network drives as well. Other references talk about configuring an internet exposed server, or the client workstation to connect to an internet based server - usually a subscription service. Is there a middle ground? Can I use it installed just to the workstation and have multiple people access the same mapped network drive? I might be having a "bad google day" but I can't seem to find much on what the physical infrastructure should be to support the process. I find references to MASSIVE installations (38 servers+) and references to installing on the workstation. -Denny --=20 http://www.piclist.com/techref/piclist PIC/SX FAQ & list archive View/change your membership options at http://mailman.mit.edu/mailman/listinfo/piclist .
