Yep, I know of gcc being free, but what I was suggesting was that if=20 Microchip did this with their ARM tool chain (to be competitive, or to=20 not change Atmel Studio's model) with their ARM offerings, I'd get the=20 benefit of having a real live FAE I can call from those rare but=20 important days when I lose hair over an issue. Have you tried calling=20 STM or NXP for help? Even for presales help (when I was choosing=20 processors for a project), I was originally told to register and submit=20 a support ticket and my (presales) questions would be added there.
