I remember Zebra Strips from years ago to connec= t I have had bad experiences with zebra strip style connectors. I used to do = maintenance on a midi computer that used zebra strip style connectors to mo= unt different style daughter boards on its serial communications I?O board.= The strips used were rubbery type strips with columns of graphite type stu= ff in them, and although constrained in a plastic frame to keep them aligne= d with the pads and vertical to the PCB they would after a while fail. You = couldn't see any problem with them when dismantled, and cleaning the PCBs a= nd replacing the strips for sort it out for a few months. Later on the comp= uter manufacturer supplied a different strip that we never had problems wit= h. However Samtec make a connector that would fit what you want to do. Look at the FSI range https://www.samtec.com/products/fsi three heights ava= ilable, 3mm, 6mm and 10mm. I investigated these a long time ago (but the project hasn't eventuated) fo= r fitting to a daughter board when I didn't want the expense of fitting a c= onnector on the master board, but rather some gold flashed pads using the g= old flash of RoHS board processing. --=20 http://www.piclist.com/techref/piclist PIC/SX FAQ & list archive View/change your membership options at http://mailman.mit.edu/mailman/listinfo/piclist .
