Some context... this project is a quick one-off messaging system for a=20 friend's client. A receptionist will be able to send quick messages=20 (from a PC app) to the boss (on this box with a 4x20 LCD). The boss will=20 be able to press one of a few buttons for a quick canned response. I'll=20 be using an Arduino for this, and VB for the PC side. So here's the kicker... I have a total budget of $500, of which I=20 estimated <$100 for parts, and I expect I'll spend less than 10 hrs on=20 this, cause I'm re-purposing some other code. Really doing this as a=20 favor for a friend. End customer already approved the $35 LMB case I=20 linked to earlier, but the frustration in chasing down a datasheet had=20 me looking at alternate enclosure options. At this point wood is also=20 an option, which a friend at a local makerspace says he can make me for=20 less than $50. Cheers, -Neil.
