Thanks everyone for the suggestions. I weighed some batteries as a first te=
st, as that was easy.  I tried some existing Amazon (2000 mAh) and Eveready=
 (2300 mAh) batteries that I have used for some time with good results (alt=
hough I have never measured the actual capacity) and they were both 27 gram=
s.

These TalentCell batteries weigh more, each was the same, 30g. So that's at=
 least encouraging.=20

I'm going to try building up a current sink with a LM317, and see how that =
goes. I'll report back if anyone is interested.
