Speaking of files.....Not to hijack the thread but I think my story fits in... =20 Back in my home town, the local hardware store was family operated; Husband ran the store, took care of customers, ordered inventory; wife ran the cash register and kept the other staff on their toes, and their 9 year old daughter helped wherever she could. The young lady had developed a useful knowledge of most of the inventory, but there were a few "open" places in her knowledge.=20 =20 One afternoon, she went to help a customer.=20 "Can I help you find something, sir?" "Why, yes, young lady, I need a file" "Come this way, please, sir" They reached the file display. He looked the assortment over and, not finding what he needed, inquired: "Do you have and 10 inch bastards in stock?" She immediately screwed up her face, started to cry, and yelled. "Daddy! That man said a BAD WORD to me!!" This got Pop's attention. He hotfooted it over ready to do battle. "What did you say to my daughter?!!" The customer explained what he said, and after the dust settled, Dad explained to daughter that a bastard was a type of file and in that context it was not a bad word.=20 A couple days later, another customer came to the file display. Daughter walked up.=20 "Can I help you, sir? " I'm looking for a file but I'm not sure what I need" "Well, right here we have 10 inch bastards, but over there we have some very nice half SOB's".
