I don't remember buying, or even seeing for sale for that matter,
a non- polarised cap in the last 40 years that wasn't summed up
in 2 / 3 characters.

1 / 2 digits with '1' '2' '3' '4' '5' '6' 'n' or 'u'

Occassionally you might find the odd exception, eg marked 470n
instead of 474

Does your company refer to values in pF only in-house ? I
suppose it seems a system somewhat less liable to mis-reading /
misinterpretation, at some stages of production anyway
