Not to hijack the thread, but I'm facing a similar sourcing issue.

Looking at a product that will be powered by a single 18650 Li Ion cell.
Needs to be "power tool" grade cells (as opposed to "computer" cells) as it
will peak at 4A for a few seconds.
I've not been able to find a cell holder that I consider reliable, so I'm
looking to move to welded tabs. It seems the world of Li Ion batteries is
full of inflated claims, outright lies, bait and switch, "grey" supply
chains and scoundrels of all sorts, in fact most of the web sites I've
found offering such things seem to be pretty sketchy looking.

Any recommendations for a reliable supplier that can provide high drain
18650 cells with welded solder tabs? (or even ~6 inch lead wires with a
connector)
Less than a dozen to start, Production in the mid 100's per year. Immediate
need.
Preferably in the USA.
