We had a similar problem but fortunately we only had 2 cats. The big (27 lb) guy had a special diet while the little (4 lb) gal could eat anything. Neither wanted to eat the special stuff so we put the normal food in a large plastic box with a lot of air holes and one larger entrance. The entrance was too small for Samson, the big guy, to get through. With only 2 cats in the right size order, this worked well for us.
