Specification for the 1N5822
Vrrm is 40V  Vrrm would be 80V for two diodes in series.

If the 1N5822 goes into reverse avalanche mode, it will initially see an in=
stantaneous dissipation of 40V times 4A which will roll off a rate dependen=
t on the solenoid inductance.  I would guess that SPICE would be the best w=
ay to characterize this.
