> I am building a light dimmer Not side-stepping the aim, but is there a noticeable 1-bit difference in intensity, particularly if the load is something with inertia, like a filament bulb ? As with a motor, you might find you have a useless band at the lower end where there's not enough energy to rotate with meaningful torque or illuminate, just produce heat. Usefulness may start at 20% or even 30% duty cycle, so you don't need the whole ADC range and can reserve the lowest results (eg a few degrees) for 'off', and the same at the top end for 'on' Joe ----- No virus found in this message.
