Can anyone help me identify this SOD80 zener diode? (http://www.griffin.net/diode.jpg if the inline image doesn't work) The thicker first band looks more orange to me than the red it appears=20 in this photo... but then I'm a bit colorblind so who knows. The designator on the PCB says ZD5, so I assume it's a zener. It was=20 right at the power input to a PLC, with the thicker orange/red band on=20 the +24 rail, and the other end on the - rail. This diode has shorted out, so I need to replace it with something.=20 Given the 'fuzziness' of zeners, I'm not sure what to use. 27V=20 nominal? 30V? Additionally, if you figure it out... HOW did you do so? I found a few=20 "diode color charts" online, but I can't make any sense out of decoding=20 this with those.
