was written without any prior experience with VB.  (It=92s not just that th=
e language is easy, but also that =85 it had the capabilities that I looked=
 for, and the documentation/help/etc was good enough to be able to FIND tho=
se capabilities.)
There are some VB-like development environments that work on multiple platf=
orms (RealBasic is one.  (actually, I don=92t know how VB-like it is, or wh=
ether they still exist.  It=92s been a while.))
