This is what I suspected, and is why I'm looking for an alternative. I'm checking into eMMC as suggested earlier. I'd be happy to stick with 1-bit but the libraries I've looked into supposedly can't achieve the speed I need. I would consider paying for licensing if it can be done on a per-unit with a reasonable or no minimum. Speaking on licensing, will I need to license the use of FAT32?
