100% agree, in the days of DECCA Nav I recall sailing a 50' yacht down the
west coast of south Africa to Cape Town by Dead Reckoning and Looking for
stars. The DECCA had our fix as being 10NM inland. I have never trusted ENS
since and still to this day insist that crew members pass a basic
navigation test before being allowed on board :)
many people in pleasure craft these days think there iPhone or Android
Tablet have superseded the need for basic navigation and radio.
