Hi Jason, Thanks for the clarification. I had assumed all electronics need to pass FC= C regulations even if it is a one off. Although, you mention an exempt category? That makes it sound like all electronics do not need to pass FCC regulations. Is this true? Thanks Again, Tom -----Original Message----- From: piclist-bounces@mit.edu [mailto:piclist-bounces@mit.edu] On Behalf Of Jason White Sent: Sunday, October 18, 2015 3:32 PM To: Microcontroller discussion list - Public. Subject: Re: [PIC] ,oe frequency RC oscillator Technically, the FCC regulations always apply to all products sold and marketed in the US. The thing is if only a handful of units are made and th= e units do not produce noticeable amounts of EMI, the chances of getting caught are low. The Chinese manufactures/sellers are exempt from US law, its the resellers in the US (who typically know nothing of the FCC regulations) who are liable for deficiencies of the products they import. Most products produced where I work seem to fall into the exempt category o= f the FCC regulations (appliances, automotive, and industrial).
