I've let this thread run for a while and a lot of opinions have been
aired.

We've had outrage and other feelings voiced.

I'm sure many would agree that the system did not work appropriately.

Unless this thread changes course pretty quickly I will shut it down.

If you want to continue, please start offering solutions, preferably
without outrage or strong opinions.

Remember that solutions will be carried out by people of normal
intelligence and non-engineers.

Otherwise I will deem this thread closed and no more posts will be
