Yeah, I gave it some thought and looked at the datasheet schematics
for the pins RB3 and RA4..

I was going to suggest driving RB3 with a test program in the same way
you were driving RA4, so as to isolate the PWM section and point the
finger at the pin driver.

Good to hear it was solved.
