I am not sure if this is what you are looking for, but you may want to consider a pebble. The pebble is very hackable (c core) and I believe it has what you are looking for. It does require an app to load data onto the watch and probably get data from the watch, but from what i know this wouldn't be too hard for someone with some knowledge to get around. Another option would be the TI Chronos - but I am not sure how good the sensors are in this thing. http://www.newark.com/texas-instruments/ez430-chronos-915/cc430-rf-wireless= -watch-915mhz/dp/51R4690?ost=3D51R4690&mckv=3DzZAkNa1Z&CMP=3DKNC-GUSA-GEN-S= HOPPING-TEXAS-INSTRUMENTS&CAGPSPN=3Dpla&gclid=3DCj0KEQjw4NmvBRCRp_yu2bzal4Y= BEiQAWfjpJo4xzlYrD0Vu1RL3KX9EhrurmOen-4s9fwAzCSNI9hcaAq5c8P8HAQ&CAWELAID=3D= 120185550001096510 Kind Regards, Aleksei On 13 September 2015 at 19:45, James Cameron wrote: > G'day, > > I'm looking for an activity tracker (cumulative cadence-recognising > accelerometer with battery and RF or USB) for mounting on human wrist > or ankle, for walking or bicycling. > > Especially one that can be used without a handheld PC (aka phone) app. > > Any recommendations? > > -- > James Cameron > http://quozl.linux.org.au/ > -- > http://www.piclist.com/techref/piclist PIC/SX FAQ & list archive > View/change your membership options at > http://mailman.mit.edu/mailman/listinfo/piclist > --=20 http://www.piclist.com/techref/piclist PIC/SX FAQ & list archive View/change your membership options at http://mailman.mit.edu/mailman/listinfo/piclist .
