I'd think a resolution of about 1/8" should be fine, but 1/4" should=20 serve the purpose also. I want to scan a 4" x 4" area to map the height of the cookie (which=20 should be a 3.5" circle). I was thinking I could darken the area, then use a fine light (laser=20 pointer perhaps) at an angle and have a small camera at an angle detect=20 it. I can calculate height from the location of the spot on the image. =20 Then I'd scan that across the whole area. Cheers, -Neil.
