Does somebody know about these Microchip devices, presented as "Embedded and Keyboard Controllers"? MEC13xx, MEX14xxand MEC16xx: MEC1308 - 8051 core =20 MEC1310 - 8051 core =20 MEC1322 - ARM Cortex-M4 core =20 MEC1404/1406/1408/1414/1416/1418 - MIPS32 M14K MEC1618 - AEC-625D core (product brief cites MEC1621) MEC1619 - ARC-625D core (product brief cites MEC1621) And how about the PIC32MM, cited on some toolchain read-me. I could not find anything else. Are they probing the market to see whether it is safe to adopt ARM architecture? The choice of PIC32 core seem logical, the 8051 too, after acquisition of SST. The most strange to me is the availability of ARC devices.
