And how about the PIC32MM, cited on some toolchain read-me. I could not
find anything else.


Are they probing the market to see whether it is safe to adopt ARM
architecture?
The choice of PIC32 core seem logical, the 8051 too, after acquisition
of SST.
The most strange to me is the availability of ARC devices.
