I tend to look at stuff like this as a risk/reward balance. The reward side is easy enough, you avoid a few $100 worth of parts and their install. The risk side is a little trickier... What are you going to do to rebalance the batteries? How much will this shorten battery life? (highly depends on what you do to rebalance them) What happens when someone else has to service the system? (there's a scenario when you disconnect one battery, your equipment could see reversed polarity) For _me_, I'd do it without a second thought. For something a customer was paying for or something my wife has to use if I'm not around - not a chance= , FYI, a wee bit of googling found this http://www.powerstream.com/dcdc-24V.htm Might be some options there. -Denny --=20 http://www.piclist.com/techref/piclist PIC/SX FAQ & list archive View/change your membership options at http://mailman.mit.edu/mailman/listinfo/piclist .
