James, =20 I have been working on identifying pin interconnections, so I haven't yet tried programming. I did, however, come to the same conclusion about the pins to the ICSP connector, J1, as jim@jpes.com did. I have started creatin= g a spreadsheet with tabs for each device, but it is not yet complete. So far= , only the U2 (AT29C020) and (U1) PIC18F8720 interconnection is done. Mostly done with the U6 (LCX16245/LVC16245A) pins between U1 and U2.=20 =20 In addition to the information you already posted from jim@jpes.com: U5 is a Maxim DS1307 64x8 real-time clock. U6 had different numbers between the boards (LCX16245 and LVC16245A), but both are 16-bit bidirectional bus transceivers with 5-volt tolerant I/O. PZ1 is a Mallory-Sonalert AST200 3-volt, 85dB piezo transducer. Resonant frequency is 2730 +/- 500Hz. =20 Trying to identify U3 (5-pin DIP pkg with LOUA marking) and U7 (6-pin DIP pkg with 30P marking). U7 may be a 5V-3V converter/regulator. U3 may be 5V regulator. Will know more when I power board. Internet search hasn't turned up anything obvious so, if anyone knows what these are, the assistance will be appreciated. =20 No markings found on LCD, so determining pinout may take some time. However= , I have at least found that some are connected to U1, U2, and U6. That may help. Also found reference to Microchip AN563 that may help me identify pin functions. This is roughly a 2.5"(h) x 2"(w) (2" x 2", usable) display with a 30-pin connector cable at each end. Looked at pictures on the internet fo= r about an hour, but nothing seemed to be quite like it. Frome the date on th= e backlite, I'm guessing these boards are roughly 8 years old. Anybody out there that can help identify this display? =20 Working my day job and teaching Tuesday and Thursday nights, so may be slow progress until the weekend. I'll post the spreadsheet as soon as it is finished.=20 =20 Richard =20 --=20 http://www.piclist.com/techref/piclist PIC/SX FAQ & list archive View/change your membership options at http://mailman.mit.edu/mailman/listinfo/piclist .
