So new information! These little modules originally had an LCD panel on them! How cool is that? I have, in hand now, about 30 /with/ the LCD still on. Here is a picture: https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-zcxHn-dl1c4/VV5_wN7mkUI/AAAAAAAARt0/5oPR= iLFwMuM/w466-h827-no/IMG_20150521_180012_047.jpg The nice people at the eWaste place are slowly going through, tearing OFF the LCD (because local state regulations require that LCD's be recycled separately) and getting the rest (the bare board I showed before) ready to be melted down and the metals reclaimed, etc... That will take a while, so we have some time to try to "rescue" them if we can figure out how to program the boards. Even without the LCD, they are pretty cool little modules. Now, for the people who want a couple and will try to figure out how to program them, I can send units with LCD's attached, but please try to document basic things that don't require the LCD like how to power the board, how to program the PIC, etc... Please send me your address offlist and I'll send them out. It would be nice if you could paypal about $5 to james@massmind.org to cover shipping. I'll use Priority Mail which costs me $5.25 and that way I don't have to buy boxes and you get them right quick. I would LOVE to be able to go back to http://www.ourplanetrecycling.com/ and show them some neat educational application for those boards... If we do that, they will give them up for promotional consideration. E.g. we teach a bunch of kids to program these things to blink LEDs when you press a button and they get the credit... and hopefully mom and dad will take their eWaste to them in the future.
