Nice and concise.  Thanks.

I have just received  2 x ESP12 and I have been struggling determine
exactly what it is.

I am curious why you say the ESP8266 it is not a micro-controller.  I had
hoped to load mine with the LUA firmware combined with some LUA script to
be able to status and control 2 or more pins remotely.
