As far as I can see, what sets it apart by a quantum step from eg a $US3* Arduino is the video capability. (How much do YOU pay? :-) ). Lesser leaps are : - The WiFi is an ESP2866 away from an Arduino (add say $3)(by Jan next year). - Memory size is much larger than an Arduino will sensibly support. ie it's a Linux box and an Arduino based on low capability ICs never can be= .. It seems to have less I/O and less Analog capability than a typical Arduino= .. So it is not a total killer of the super low end products. Power consumption looks to be horrendous for portable purposes. 5 hours operation on a 3300 mAh 1 cell LiIon battery !!! I don't know how much the screen adds. Russell A thought: It's open source - anyone who is willing to buy 10,000 of the core ICs can build one (or 10,000) themself. This may not be how it works, but builders are very much tied to the hardware core. --=20 http://www.piclist.com/techref/piclist PIC/SX FAQ & list archive View/change your membership options at http://mailman.mit.edu/mailman/listinfo/piclist .
