Ah, I see. So technically the device is not FCC certified until you put a sticker with the ID on the module? I suppose there are two options if I was looking to make use the ESP-12: (1) If I was absolutely sure it is an "authentic" ESP-12 and it was lacking the FCC ID sticker, then the appropriate label could be affixed to the module during product assembly. * Is this a valid way of going about things since the Chinese manufacturers don't seem to be apt to do it themselves? * Would/Do foreign manufacturers have a reason for incompletely labeling the ESP-12 modules? (2) Perhaps one of the (many, it would seem) manufacturers could be convinced to label the ESP-12's before they ship? Now, would doing (1) make someone more vulnerable/liable to manufactures building marginal ESP-12's (which may be out of spec) than having a manufacturer do (2)? I suspect the liability falls on whoever made the product regardless of the actions of the foreign manufacturer, but perhaps it is less risky to have the manufacturer label it from the getgo?
