>I always use 10uF tantalum. Thanks. I see the d/s does say > 4.7uF. I had been told that a 1uF MMC would be OK so I hadn't looked it up before Tacking on a 22uF SMT tantalum doesn't seem to have made a difference to normal operation. However, this morning ...... What happens with reset now is that when the button is released, the LCD fills up with white blocks. It's a white-on-blue 16x2. This is with or without the added cap So, it's displaying 'Ready' on line 1. The button is released and white blocks appear after the 'y', to the end of that line. There's a pause, presumably they are filling up to the 40 characters of line 1 in the LCD controller, then they appear at line 2. It takes probably 1/2 second for them to fill line 2 with 16 blocks. Eventually they wrap-around and over-write the 'Ready'. A similar thing happens no matter what is displayed. White blocks fill the screen from the last print position Current still drops from 74 to 32mA. I'd put this down to the dsPIC perhaps going to sleep or idling I foresee a day not doing what I was hoping to be doing Joe ----- No virus found in this message.
