I'm familiar with the problem you face because I help manage laptop.org mail server and mailing lists, and we get this kind of thing often. Yes, there is an inconsistency over time, and this can be because of the scoring methods used in the mail classification software. The scoring methods change over time according to the advertising efforts of others. But the inconsistency also suggests that you're right on the threshold, and there may be some things you can do to fix your scores. That can be hard to do without knowing the scoring system. I've briefly looked at your messages. Here's a recent example: http://dev.laptop.org/~quozl/z/1YYlcH.txt Looking at the X-Mailer header, you are now on Mac OS X Mail 8.2. So I don't think it is your mail client. Looking at it over the past year, I see you are regularly applying updates to Apple Mail, the last being about 12 posts ago, around the start of February. Looking at the other headers, there's lots of stuff added by Yahoo. Yahoo gets a slightly worse score because it was so easy to create new accounts there. The X-Brightmail-Tracker is being inserted by an instance of Symantec Message Filter at mit.edu. http://www.symantec.com/business/support/index?page=3Dcontent&id=3DTECH1227= 96 Of the things you might try, the most successful may be to change your PIClist subscription to another mail provider. Mac OS X Mail can handle a number of mail accounts at once. --=20 James Cameron http://quozl.linux.org.au/ --=20 http://www.piclist.com/techref/piclist PIC/SX FAQ & list archive View/change your membership options at http://mailman.mit.edu/mailman/listinfo/piclist .
