yes.. overstock.com as well... this is a key part of coinbase.com's business model. Until, and if ever, the exchange rate stabilizes it won't be held as a "store of value". Those holding now (and there are many) are investing/speculating/enthusiasts or need a pool to operate=20 their bitcoin-oriented startup with. Carrots is a funny analogy. I've been enjoying watching state and fed govt in the USA get worked up=20 about it all. On one hand, the use of btc for illicit activities is=20 clear, and personally I think the big worry (now, maybe not long-term)=20 is financing terrorism vs. drug sales, laundering, or tax evasion; very=20 fortunately that has not happened thus far. On the other hand, in the=20 same broad category of (usually) right-wingers who tend to want law and=20 order and see bitcoin as a threat also include anti-government,=20 libertarian types who say hands off. And then there is a left-right spectrum of entrepreneurial types who=20 want to invest and create new Jobs Jobs Jobs! Good for America! which=20 no politician can say Nay to, and heavy regulation in the USA means=20 innovation goes overseas, which no politician wants to ever be blamed=20 for. America can't lose the technology race! Bitcoin disrupts at an amazing and unprecedented intersection of=20 economics, technology, politics and entrenched big businesses (banks,=20 payment processors) at a time of cheap smartphones and increasing need=20 for low-value, global $ transfers. Like I said, it is fun to watch. :) J Vitaliy M wrote: > Accepting bitcoin doesn't mean transacting in bitcoin. Dell > immediately converts bc it receives from you, to USD.
