I had a look at pages listing various Duracell batteries on the internet. Images suggest that most of the offered 6V 'medical' Duracell Alkaline batteries are made in both the USA and EU simultaneously. Those that are not so marked tend to be shown as US made. 9V industrial Duracell tend to claim Malaysian parentage. There are various complaints about 9V "Duracell" failures and reports of "Durasell" batteries being seized by customs. (The colour scheme, not the name, being what was objected to) It looks like they have reached the level of noticeability by the copiers. No doubt they are honoured to be ranked alongside the likes of TI :-). I have a draft email with some links in which I'll post if I get to it. FWIW - LRC (the eponymous Leshan Radio Corporation)(or is that Company) is still going strong turning out copies of vintage Motorola parts. In their case it's legitimate, and such of their product that I've bought has worked well for me. They entered a joint venture with then-Motorola long ago and apparently got copies of many of their older designs. If you want eg BC3x7/8x7/..., LM324, TL431, MC34028, ... and similar olde stuff then LRC products (with slightly adapted part names) work well, and cost approximately $0 in volume in China.
