Deep in the history of the PIClist is a discussion of using cupric chloride
as an etchant.
It has it's pro's and con's, but one aspect is that you can regenerate it
by bubbling air through it from an
aquarium pump - which does double duty to stir the etchant around a
vertically oriented board.
