Hi:

The Microchip AN1521A shows the same thing, i.e. for all 5 solar radiation =
values plotted (200W/m2 to 1000W/m2) the=20
maximum power point is at the same voltage. Pretty much independent of the =
irradiance and load.  No data shown for the=20
effect of temperature.
The panel is about 5 amps short circuit and 22 V open circuit and about 80 =
Watts at 1000W/m2 and the magic voltage is=20
about 17.5 Volts for this panel.  I expect other panels would have a differ=
ent voltage.

But then the app note ignores this idea and talks about algorithms for MPPT=
..
