Turns out I seem to be ok, at least for now. Not that it really makes much of a difference at the volumes I work in, but I also started finding that 0603 was cheaper for many components. I will proceed based on the schematic I drew for now, and do some real testing when I have time to put together a prototype. I have a feeling that due to time crunches on my end I'll be working with smaller LEDs on a board I've already got here to work out some of the programming options.
