I think that it's worth mentioning that there are other options in the SBC market other than the 400 kilo gorilla. Here's a recent survey of current and shortly upcoming options: http://linuxgizmos.com/ringing-in-2015-with-40-linux-friendly-hacker-sbcs For example I recently purchased a pair of pcduino3 nanos: http://store.cutedigi.com/pcduino3-nano/ along with the upgraded processor and memory (dual core Allwinner A20 Cortex A7 Dual core at 1 Ghz and 1GB ram), I was really impressed with the peripheral offerings: - onboard 4GB NAND flash with Ubuntu preloaded - onboard SATA port + microSD slot. - 1Gb Ethernet - OTG USB port - Arduino UNO socket interfaces All this still clocks in at $39 USD + shipping. It's big brother adds wifi support too. There are other products with USB3 support. There are 2GB ram offerings. There are 8-core offerings. SBCs run the gamut.
