I think the French tried it as well but have recently given up on
trying to make it go even faster with a new TGV. The new guy in charge
of delivering HS2 wants it to call at Crewe as well. Why on earth for I
don't know, it's not as if it's a city full of people wanting to go
north/south. It would be built by the same German company who did the
Shanghai one.
