The dryers I've been around all have some arrangement to remove power (or shut off the burner, if it's a gas dryer) if an over-temperature condition occurs , so that a plugged dryer vent (a common occurence) does'nt result in a fire. The safety device is often a fusible link, so that if an over-temp does occur the fusible link must be replaced. YMMV - Good luck. --=20 http://www.piclist.com/techref/piclist PIC/SX FAQ & list archive View/change your membership options at http://mailman.mit.edu/mailman/listinfo/piclist .
