I should have noted that the "land on a barge" "trick" involves a Flash
Gordon rocket ship tail first rocket powered landing ("As God and Robert
Heinlein intended"*) (in the dark in a storm adds to the fun).
They've been doing these on land for some while (launch- hover - land, low
altitude).
