But I'm a pretty ancient bird, a long-time smoker and coffee drinker, so far from the steadiest hands in the west, nor the best eyesight. I figure if I can do it, almost anyone can. Aligning is the big hassle. Once the pads are tacked down, then a touch of the iron will cause the solder to wick onto the pin from the pad, with little to no issue of a solder bridge. You do have to be stingy with the solder. I used .020" and it would help if it were thinner, but that's what I had. Also, silver solder seems to be a bit more cooperative, but it really isn't all that tough. On TSSOPs, I slobber solder over the whole thing and then suck it all up with braid. Leaves solder only under the pins - pretty slick. I haven't tried that technique on these. I just melt some solder on the pad and wait until the pin sucks it up. Helps that there's only one pin that matters. I'll try to get some better pictures of the little jack. I think I've been able to get them from both Newark and DigiKey. --McD > The chargers typically only have power and ground so a solder bridge is n= ot an issue? >=20 >=20 > -----Original Message----- > >From: "John J.
