Does anyone have any recent idea how many PICs are currently in the
wild?  I know quite a few years ago mchip reached the milestone of a PIC
for every man, woman and child on the planet, but that was a while ago.
With the ever broadening product line you would think that it has to be
several times that by now.

Just kinda curious.  Going to introduce a bunch of hams to their first
PIC project in a couple months and though that might be a nice tidbit.
