The list was a thoroughly addictive place to be when I firs= t signed up, with Scott Dattalo, Andy Warren, John Payson et al posting codin= g challenges. I learned a lot from the regulars on here, and it was a joy to read through the new messages every day. The reason I don't post much anymore has nothing to do with the admin (who do a sterling job with little thanks), it's simply pressure of work/life/family and the fact that I don't do much work with PICs any more. Just thinking about it, since I first signed up in 98ish? I met my wife, got married and had a daughter. Amazingly I still work for the same company, albeit it has changed hands and names a few times. These days I only look at the list on Gmane when I have a spare few minutes (the RSS feed is very handy when it works, though it's down again). I suspect at least part of the reason for declining posts is that many people that might have needed to learn how to use PIC in days of yore, will now simply grab an Arduino which provides a greater level of hand holding and more instant gratification than hand crafting some assembler in MPLAB. Not half as satisfying as something you have invested real time and effort into however.
