Has anyone here had encounters with or considered spinal surgery of any
sort 'along the way'?
Not something that most would get involved in lightly.

My many years of frequently falling off motorcycles in times past, a couple
of car versus motorcycle (& me) incidents, and a low height but decent fall
from a ladder about 18 months ago (due to gross stupidity on my
part)(folding ladders may fold when the joints are not correctly locked!)
seem to have caught up with me and people are mumbling things about my C5
vertebra and other arcane stuff. There is much on the web thereon and
presumably "user groups" one could ask questions in (and I've skimmed more
material than is good for my constitution (even though that's not a cast
amount)). But, the denizens of this list have always managed a good cross
section of advice, information sources and disparate peripheral material on
all sorts of subjects, and seem likely to be a good source in this case.
I'm not after any particular specific information - just the normal random
walk / scattergun / fancy that cross section that has proved useful in
other areas.
